    Until everyone in this country realizes that gays and lesbians are treated as second class citizens, we will continue to fight against inequalities and disparity. Will Phillips is spot on for fighting not to say the pledge. I stand (or in this case) sit with him.

      Wow. Love the dad. Love the kid. That father should get a medal. He's reacting properly, and he's obviously a strong support person for his son. Wow. I'm impressed with both of them.

        I don't say "under god" because it's not appropriate given the first amendment (and I'm a nontheist). I think he is right to avoid pledging allegiance to a flag that he thinks represents a nation that practices religious bigotry.
