I have to give you props for that. The clemency was a mistake from the get-go. We, here in Arkansas, knew that. It seem only our governor at the time - who was acting out of Christian compassion based on the age Clemmons was convicted - didn't.

Well, stephen, why not throw his mother and father into the mix? After all they're more culpable than Huckabee. This man had not committed these crimes when he was pardoned and he had served ten years of his time for previous offenses. It's obvious you expect some to be able to predict the future and be as right on as you are with your 20/20 hindsight.

Four people who I believe leave 9 children behind. Huckabee is finished. This CAREER felon raped a child in May and was released on $40,000 bail just 6 days ago. Enough with these liberal judges and defense attorneys who game the system. It has gotten to the point now in this country where the victims of these crimes are put on trial.

automan909- 10 seconds of research could have saved you at least three minutes of embarrassment. Washington, where Seattle is, happens to be a 'shall issue' state for concealed carry, and an open carry state. The guy who did this was an assassin, with murder on his mind, who knows if an armed civilian would have even stood a chance. Besides, I wouldn't want to be the guy standing there with a gun in his hand when the live cops showed up.

Weird their murder rate is about 1/3 that of my state that has some of the most lenient concealed carry laws in the country?

In fact we had a tax free weekend on firearms just last weekend. More guns more violence. Always the case. No civilized nation that has gun control has a murder rate comparable to ours. -

Cool the way you guys determined it was all the fault of liberal this and liberal that. Let's just face the facts and say another Christian terrorist was just doing what Jesus probably told him to do. I think it is about time the Christian community started turning these radicals in instead of turning a blind eye and freeing them out of compassion. This is exactly why cops suck , have you ever heard of a cop killer getting a fair trial? no... they always end up dead at the scene. but murder anyone else and murderers get a fair shake . what makes cops so special they get instant justice? friggin hypocrytes. stop enforcing laws that you break every day yourselves and then i will admire you..

I am a retired cop and now that I can speak freely you a ditz...The idiot kills 4 officers and is walking up on another to try for number 5....I suppose if it was you you would try to talk nicer to him to take his hands out of his pockets and give up...Oh it was dark and there a a dead officers gun in the pocket....You are , sad to say why we do our jobs....Even for those who have brain cells the size of a maggot....

I used to be a psych tech at a state run facility in PA.

at the beginning of every month, the facility would fill up, some voluntarily, some sentenced, some sent there from other facilities to relieve crowding temporarily.
at the end of the month it would always be much less crowded.
when I asked about this pattern it was explained that the individuals' funding had run out, and so they were released by the Docs.
with the exception of the convicts, and those displaying extreme symptoms at the time, diagnosis had little to do with determining release status.
we would usually see the same people back next month when their meds ran out and the symptoms returned and the new checks came in.
someone who rapes children is mentally ill. usually not due to environment but genetics (eg an extra Y chromosome is a common malady) and should not be released.
but in an overcrowded, underfunded system what should happen and what does happen are rarely the same.
and then tragedy strikes.
